Cops Leave Suicidal Man; Helpless Supporters After Standoff

The Rochester Police Department left neighbors and supporters of a suicidal man to battle it out after an hours-long standoff. Friday's bizarre incident took place in the Southwedge area between Caroline Street & South Goodman Ave. At least four blocks of traffic were taped off for hours. According to reports, officers were advised to leave the scene of a suicidal man with a weapon. Allegedly, the man demanded officers shoot him. A mental health team was reportedly on the scene as well. But, could not be located for comment.
