As COVID-19 wreak havoc on the country, many of us can’t help but wonder, who will suffer the most during this tragedy? As the faces of victims grow, so has the concern for who will be saved and who will not.
Governor Cuomo has emphasized the need for more ventilators or many more people will die. Unfortunately, those people will probably be black and brown people. America has had a long history of showing little regard for the life of black and brown folks. Could we ever believe it would be different now?
If there are 2 patients both in need of one ventilator, how will the nurses decide which person deserves it the most? Will they play a game of eeny meeny miny moe or a game of favorites based on race? Only time will tell, but it ain’t looking good🤷🏽♀️
