Predicted Death Toll Might Not be as Bad

White House officials say that the number of people who could die from COVID-19 could reach as high as 240,000. However, other sources say that the death toll will be lower than the initial figure.

CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield states that the 100,000-240,000 figure was based off the assumption that only half of the American public would follow the recommendations to staying healthy. The fact that a large majority of Americans are taking the social distancing measures seriously, the numbers are going to be much lower than predicted.

What does this mean? It means that to prevent such large numbers of deaths, it is important to practice social distancing, stand within six feet of others, sanitize and/or wash your hands constantly and to disinfect surfaces as much as possible. If you can, wear face masks when you go out.
