Rev. Raphael Warnock upset republicans after a clear victory to become Georgia's first Black senator. The newly elected senator responsible for changing the "face" of politics tweeted, "Joy comes in the morning. Thank you, Georgia." Many Americans are hopeful that Warnock is the change America needs as the republican party continues to self destruct.
According to Warnockforgergia.com, Warnock grew up in Kayton Homes public housing with eleven siblings. He graduated from Morehouse College and was ordained in ministry. The fifty-one-year-old Rev. Raphael Warnock has been a pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church since 2005.
