The Root Cause of Selfishness

What leads a person to be so, so, so selfish? My answer would be that it is the end result of being actively disliked.

When one is deeply disliked, one is deeply isolated. The deeply disliked person only focuses on himself or herself and no one else.

That person is in a deep hole and needs to be liked in order to have a chance at altruism.
