I was able to attend this event they held every year at the Lansing Center in Lansing, MI. It's an event to celebrate Martin Luther King day. Every year it seems to get more intense. The whole celebration is to reflect on the legacy and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin's I have a dream speech still speak volumes and continue to impact generations to come. His quotes, civil rights movement, voting rights act, and dedication for change in the world should not ever be forgotten. He taught us through his actions to love instead of hate.
The title of this event," There comes a time when silence is betrayal" goes with Dr. Martin Luther King's quote " Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter". We must remember the voices of the Civil Rights Movement and our voices for us all to continue seek for a nation of equality and justice for all.
